Key Facts

Project: RMIT Building 55 Phase 1
Client: RMIT
Location:  Melbourne CBD
Duration:  May 2011

The data cabling works involved structured data cabling throughout the building over specially constructed tray work originating from the communications room. All cables were then terminated and fully tested on cabinet mounted patch panels. These provide the computer access points and data ports for the newly installed fabrication machines and new automated robotic arm. Power outlets were also supplied and installed by Electrix for all the large machinery and students desk computer terminals on the various floors and lecture rooms throughout this modern building.

Time constraints were very tight for this project, not only to meet the required opening date, but also to ensure the early provision of data and power which was urgently required by engineers flown in from all over the globe within preset timeslots for commissioning of specialised automation and robotic equipment.

The project was completed ready for its opening date and within budget to a very high quality standard.
